1s vs BytownA strong Crusaders squad has been named to travel to Ottawa this Saturday October 14th to play the Bytown Blues in the Cup Consolation Semi-Final. The match takes place at Twin Elm Rugby Park in Nepean, just outside of Ottawa. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
The Sr, Men’s side overcame the disappointment of their Round 1 loss and rebounded with a dominant 12 Try effort against the Oshawa Vikings and convincing 70 – 7 victory two weeks ago. The Crusaders are now one win away from the consolation final to be played on Cup Final Day on October 21st.
There is space for supporters on the team bus that departs the club on Saturday morning and returning later that evening. If anyone is interested in coming to Ottawa and supporting the team, please email Team Manager Nikki Corless at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot.
“The win against Oshawa was a good boost for our confidence and I was happy to see that the players could put aside the big disappointment of the first round loss and put together a dominating performance the next week.”, said Head Coach Rodin Lozada. “We are not on the side of the brackets we would like to be, but the players agreed that there was still a lot to play for and we still have a chance to finish the season on a positive note.”
The side is once again captained by Jamie Leveridge, with one change to the side that started the match against Oshawa as Rob Cini comes off the bench and onto the Wing for James Wood who is unable to travel. The full squad is in the attachment.
