U14 Boys make a solid start to the Toronto 7s Series

Lancers win 3-0, Knights 1-1-1

Sunday 2nd was the opening weekend for the Toronto Sevens Series tournament. With a strong squad of junior and senior players, the U14 Boys entered two teams into this event.

The Lancers are playing more fluid and connected sevens, dominating the opposition and comfortably winning all three games:

  • 39-5 against Toronto City, with tries from John, Brendan(x2), James(x2), Connor and Sean.
  • 38-5 against our Crusader Knights, with tries from Connor(x3), Rory, Travis and Sean.
  • 67-5 against Mississauga Blues, with tries from Alex, Brendan(x3), James(x2), Connor, Marcus, Travis, Rory and Charlie.

The Knights team, continues to progress from last week’s performance at Sunnybrook, playing solid rugby and starting to use the space on the field. Hugo Tudor-Price led the team in offence and defense, playing a blinder in all 3 games. The Knights won one, lost one and drew one, losing only to the Crusader Lancers:

  • 40-5 against Toronto City, with tries from Hugo(x4) and Jacob(x2).
  • 5-38 against Crusader Lancers, with a try by Jacob
  • 5-5 against Barrie, with tries by Jacob and our own Charlie (for Barrie, playing for the opposition as we lent them 2 players for the game).

The rain held off for most of the day and the boys played hard and had a great time. The teams are looking forward to the second weekend of the series on October 16th.
