The Junior Crusaders traveled South for Easter Tour and had a fantastic experience at the Tropical Sevens in Orlando.
Beyond having a great time, the principal goal of the Tour was to learn and observe what teams from other parts of North America looked liked, what skills they executed etc.
The perfectly manicured fields were located on the Champions Gate Resort grounds, only a short walk from the Hotel and Waterpark; The Boys couldn’t have planned it out better themselves.
U14 Team
Our young U14s played against the oldest French High School of Mexico, the local Ontario Misfits, Cape Pirates Club, Celtic Barbarians from Alberta/BC and USA South. A mixed team in terms of age, the group punched above their weight winning 2 of 5 games.
U16 Team
The U16 group were in a very competitive pool with a number of 7s Academy’s and came out of that with a 4-1 record. They took the 3rd place match against the Ontario Blues to secure the Bronze Medal.
Both of these teams had a very successful tournament.
Beyond our group, it was amazing to see many CRU kids represent Ontario, TRU, Misfits, Upright etc. on the weekend. There was both clear rivalry and camaraderie amongst the Ontario sides!
On the Final night the Resort and Tournament Hosted a massive Pool Party at the WaterPark, which was a great way to end an exhausting but fun 5 day tour.
