April 29th  11:00 am to 3:00 pm: 1st XV and 2nd XV away to Ajax Wanderers

May 6th      11:00 am to 5:00 pm: 1st XV, 2nd XV and 3rd XV home to the Balmy Beach

AGMCrusaders Rugby Club will hold the 2022 Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 31st January at 7:00 pm.

We have the following vacancies on our Board:
Two (2) Executive Directors:

  • President
  • Treasurer

Four (4) Directors to assume responsibility for the following portfolios:

  • Minor Rugby
  • Men’s/Boys Rugby
  • Communication
  • Director at Large

Election to these positions will take place at the Annual General Meeting to be held at the Crusaders Clubhouse on 31st January 2023. The term for each Director position will be two years.

Who can stand for election?: Any member of the public over the age of 18 years.
What is the process?: The prospective candidate must be proposed and seconded by existing club members eligible to vote at the AGM.

  • Congrats to Brenden BlackDavid Scollon and Jacob Ince for their recent selection to the Toronto Arrows Academy.
  • Sam Boulanger has moved to sunny Scotland to play for Melrose RFC.
  • Djustice Sears Duru has accepted a contract with the San Diego Legion of the MLR.
  • Lizzie Gibson was awarded the 2022 USports Women’s Rugby Outstanding Player of the Year.
  • Aivery Oitomen has signed with the Toronto Arrows.
  • Adrian Wadden has re-signed with the Toronto Arrows for 2023.

Coaching

Coaching

  • Scott Hendry, our Senior Men’s Coach, and Kyle Knight, our Senior Women’s Coach, have both agreed to return to the club in 2023 to coach our senior programs.
  • Brent Wienand will be joining the club from South Africa in January to help us with coach development and formalizing more of the club’s programming – stay tuned for more information.
  • The club will be offering Level 1 and Level 2 Coach courses for ALL interested coaches – so we encourage everyone of all skill levels with an interest in coaching to take advantage of these free coach development and certification courses

NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF CRUSADERS RUGBY CLUB

NOTICE is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Members of the Crusaders Rugby Club (the “Corporation”) will be held on the 31st day of January 2023 at 7:00 pm for the following purposes:

  1. To receive the report from the Directors on the activities of Club for the 2021/2022 year.
  2. To receive the audited financial statements of the Corporation for the financial year ended October 31st, 2022.
  3. To appoint the Auditors of the Corporation for the ensuing year.
  4. To appoint Directors of the Corporation.
  5. To transact such other business as may properly be brought before the meeting.

12 indoor sessions (Mondays Jan 9, 2023 – Apr 17, 2023) focusing on developing core rugby skills: pass/catch skills, agility, evasion, finding space for boys and girls aged 5-12.

  • Indoor skills training sessions, Mondays 5-6pm 
  • Where?: Pine Glen Facility, 1520 Pine Glen Road, Oakville
  • Focus on developing core rugby skills: pass/catch skills, agility, evasion, finding and using space
  • Great for beginners wanting to try rugby out and for developing core skills
  • Children will be divided by age group
  • Training CRU SKILLS t-shirts provided
