Cru Receives Ontario Trillium Foundation Funding

The Crusaders Rugby Club is pleased to announce that we have received a $99,300 funding grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The OTF, an agency of the Government of Ontario, established the Resilient Communities Fund which supports organizations to adapt and recover from the challenging impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Funding will secure extensive COVID sanitation supplies and equipment, new training equipment to enable the club to continue to deliver COVID-safe programming, help to develop the club’s resilience through more diverse funding streams, and support the broadening of our programming to meet the needs of our growing, diverse and co-ed membership community.

“I want to congratulate the Oakville Crusaders Rugby Club on receiving this important OTF funding to help them deal with the impacts of COVID-19. The Club is recognized across Canada and has hosted professional and international teams right here in Oakville. Sport is important to our physical and mental well-being, and the Crusaders continue to play a fundamental role in our community now, and following this pandemic. I am excited to congratulate them on their success”, said Oakville MPP Stephen Crawford.

“We are thrilled to have received this grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Sport plays a positive role in our physical and mental health – this targeted funding will help us further develop our comprehensive range of programming for persons of all ages and abilities, and make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families”, said Pat Daniels, President of the Crusaders Rugby Club.

The club would like to most sincerely thank MPP Crawford and the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their support of our club and our community in these difficult times.
