Crusaders Rugby Club to Host the 2026 McCormick Cup Finals

2026 McCormick Cup Finals are coming to Cru!

Fellow Crusaders, Alumni, and Supporters,

As President of the Crusaders Rugby Club, it is my absolute privilege to announce that our home grounds in Oakville have been selected to host the 2026 McCormick Cup finals on October 24, 2026!

This is an honor for our club and a massive testament to our fantastic facilities, dedicated volunteers, and deep roots in the rugby community. Hosting this event brings the absolute pinnacle of our sport right to our doorstep.

A Legacy of Excellence

The McCormick Cup isn’t just a trophy; it is the heart and soul of Ontario rugby. Dating back to its earliest championship roots in 1950, it serves as the ultimate prize for the Marshall Premiership. The history of this Cup is etched with the names of rugby legends, fierce provincial rivalries, and storied clubs—including our very own Crusaders, who proudly lifted the Cup in 2000 and 2012. For over seven decades, competing for this title has been the ultimate test of grit, passion, and camaraderie.

A Premier North American Competition

Today, the McCormick Cup represents far more than just local bragging rights. It firmly stands as one of the most prestigious and highly competitive club rugby tournaments in all of North America.

  • Elite Talent: The competition acts as a vital showcase for top-tier talent, regularly featuring athletes with national and international experience.
  • The Gold Standard: The sheer caliber of play, the intensity of the matches, and the deeply ingrained club cultures set the standard for North American grassroots and amateur rugby.

Having the 2026 finals on our home pitch is an incredible opportunity to celebrate the sport we love, honour its rich traditions, and welcome the wider rugby family for an unforgettable day of world-class competition. Let’s get ready to pack the sidelines and show everyone the true, welcoming spirit of the Cru!

President, Crusaders Rugby Club
